Books

What do an ex-Navy test pilot and a liberal Senate staffer have in common?  Nothing, really, except for being the two most powerful Mages born in decades.  And none too soon, for the forces of evil are gathering to take over the world-or at least, Washington D.C.  Elaine Gates and Alan Graves are the Lady of Wind and Water and the Lord of Earth and Fire, or so the mysterious Mark Valentine and his equally-enigmatic partner, Nadia Julian, say.  Sparks literally fly when these unlikely allies join forces in a race to find a mysterious artifact before the forces of evil do, and to discover the key to their destinies  . . . .

Amazon Reviewers Agree!

"What a cracking good read this was!"

"It will keep you riveted from beginning to end."

"Once I started reading it I didn't want to put it down!"

"My one complaint about this book is that it ended!"

"Definitely an author to watch out for!"

Elaine Gates and Alan Graves have only had a few weeks to recover from the shock of discovering their roles as the Lady of Wind and Water and the Lord of Earth and Fire and having to fight for their lives against dark Mages determined to kill them. They're hoping life will be quieter for a while, especially as Alan's Senator employer is beginning to ask questions about her staffer's strange new habits. Elaine, meanwhile, wants time to look for meaningful employment now her injuries have ended her Navy career, and to find out more about their mysterious allies, the vampire Mark Valentine and his thrall Nadia Julian. But an earthquake, a new vampire on the scene, and a demonic apparition lead them straight back into the shadowy world of magic . . . and murder.

Besides Mages and D.C. traffic, Jennifer has written vampire fiction since her first sale to Dreams of Decadence magazine in 2001.  Besides that story, Waking Nights,  she has also written the short story   Number Nine Penwiper Mews, introducing vampire detective Joszef Kiraly.

NEW IN PAPERBACK and for KINDLE

Joszef Kiraly was born a lord in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and he died one in war . . . . but in a world where vampires, shape-shifters and loup-garou move freely in the highest circles, death can be only the beginning. A hundred years later, he makes his unliving and amuses himself by solving crimes, great and small and sometimes even ones that appear out of nowhere. En route via the night train from Vienna to Cherbourg, Joszef expects nothing but a routine trip, until a young woman with a serious problem forces her way into his compartment. She's alone, she's afraid, she's being chased through the train by two men trying to catch her, and she is definitely telling a lie. With time to kill and a lovely young woman practically dropped in his lap, Joszef is on the case. If you are looking for a vampire more akin to Lord Peter Wimsey than Lord Rutheven look no further than Joszef Kiraly, Gentleman and Vampire.
